Seton Hall vs. DePaul: Game time, TV schedule, odds and more

Can DePaul get another win?

NCAA Basketball: DePaul at Georgetown Rafael Suanes-USA TODAY Sports

It’s took 10 games, but the DePaul Blue Demons finally won another Big East game! Before their victory on the road against Georgetown, the last win DePaul had this season was against Providence thanks to a miracle run by Billy Garrett Jr. Against the Hoyas, it was Garrett Jr. who helped lead the escape again. With the game tied with five seconds to go, Garrett Jr. had the ball in his hands and was somehow fouled with 0.2 left. It was a tough call for Hoya fans to swallow and gave DePaul a huge lifeline to grab a win. Garrett Jr. knocked down two free throws to stun the Hoyas, 67-65. The win gave the Blue Demons their 9th win of the season and bumped their conference record to 2-13. DePaul is still three games behind Georgetown for 9th place in the standings but this win could give them some momentum heading into Big East Tournament time.

You never know.

DePaul’s opponents, the Seton Hall Pirates, are also coming off a very good conference win. For the Pirates, it was a seven-point win against Xavier. It was a good bounce back considering they were smacked off the court by Villanova in the game prior. The game featured a monster performance from Angel Delgado who had a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds. The win helped Seton Hall keep their position right inside the huge cluster of teams in the Big East standings. As of right now, SH is tied with Providence and is only one game behind 4th and 5th place Xavier and Marquette. If the Pirates can get a little run going before the end of the season, they could find themselves in a top-4 seed when the Big East Tournament rolls around.

One thing to watch

Battle on the glass

Sitting at an average of 40.3 rebounds per game and led by Angel Delgado, Seton Hall is one of the best rebounding teams in the country (14th) and are the best rebounding team in the Big East. DePaul sits at 8th in rebounding. Considering how hard it is for the Blue Demons to defend the ball, they have to make sure that they limit second chance opportunities for Seton Hall and their offense which features five guys averaging double digit scoring. If DePaul wants to win this game they have to make sure that Seton Hall doesn’t control the glass for easy second chance baskets and doesn’t use their defensive rebounds to push out in transition.
