Big East Coast Bias Basketball Power Rankings: WEEK FOURTEEN EDITION

Lots of movement... except at the top.

NCAA Basketball: Virginia at Villanova Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Our latest edition of Power Rankings are out!

In this week’s edition, 16 pollsters ranked the Big East teams 1-10.

This week’s edition featured the contributions of Anonymous Eagle and Casual Hoya.

10. DePaul Blue Demons

(Score: 10.00; Last Week: 10; Highest Vote: 10; Lowest Vote: 10)

“Oh boy. We have a unanimous #10.” - Robert O’Neill

“There were squash matches at the Rosemont Horizon on WWE shows more competitive than Villanova-DePaul was.” - Chris Novak

9. Georgetown Hoyas

(Score: 8.18; Last Week: 8; Highest Vote: 5; Lowest Vote: 9)

“Georgetown dropped a spot, but it was more due to St. John’s than the Hoyas.” - Robert O’Neill

“Although they’re ninth, it feels like there’s a valley between 9 and 10. Might just be me.” - Chris Novak

8. Providence Friars

(Score: 7.47; Last Week: 7; Highest Vote: 7; Lowest Vote: 9)

“The Friars beat a top 25 team on Saturday, yet still dropped a spot. Just like Georgetown, this one has more to do with St. John’s than Providence” - Robert O’Neill

“Hell of a win for Providence in tagging Butler this past weekend.” - Chris Novak

7. St. John’s Red Storm

(Score: 7.18; Last Week: 9; Highest Vote: 4; Lowest Vote: 9)

“Look at the Johnnies!” - Robert O’Neill

“‘Greg St. Jean is a difference maker” - (Jeff Goodman, probably)’” - Chris Novak

6. Seton Hall Pirates (1)

(Score: 6.29; Last Week: T-5; First Place Votes: 1; Lowest Vote: 9)

“The Pirates continue to perform strongly in our poll.” - Robert O’Neill

“I’m going to just hold my tongue.” - Chris Novak

5. Marquette Golden Eagles

(Score: 5.59; Last Week: T-5; Highest Vote: 5; Lowest Vote: 9)

“The Golden Eagles’ NCAA Tournament chances are getting dimmer by the moment.” - Robert O’Neill

“And to think I thought that Marquette had an easy path ahead of them after the ‘Nova win. Yeesh.” - Chris Novak

4. Butler Bulldogs

(Score: 3.76; Last Week: 2; Highest Vote: 2; Lowest Vote: 5)

“Butler is at a bit of a crossroads. They need to get back on track over the next month.” - Robert O’Neill

“They’re in no danger of missing the NCAA Tournament, but Butler has to start trending upward. Kelan Martin also needs to get it together.” - Chris Novak

3. Xavier Musketeers

(Score: 3.24; Last Week: 3; Highest Vote: 3; Lowest Vote: 4)

“There’s no shame in a home loss to Villanova. Xavier has been very good despite losing Edmond Sumner and despite Trevon Bluiett’s ankle being wonky.” - Robert O’Neill

“X has been showing tons of promise. It could be all for naught if Bluiett is out for an extended period of time though.” - Chris Novak

2. Creighton Bluejays

(Score: 2.12; Last Week: 5; Highest Vote: 2; Lowest Vote: 3)

“Creighton benefitted from playing just DePaul last week, but they sure looked impressive in the victory.” - Robert O’Neill

“Remember when people buried Creighton? That was fun.” - Chris Novak

1. Villanova Wildcats (16)

(Score: 1.06; Last Week: 1; Highest Vote: 1; Lowest Vote: 2)

“Business as usual up top.” - Robert O’Neill

“Man, that Jalen Brunson kid is good.” - Chris Novak
