Storylines
- Marquette had their hangover game after the shocking upset of Villanova a week ago. After many years of not making the tournament, they seemed primed to pick up a spot this year, but they can’t afford to drop any more winnable games. Will they pull through at MSG?
- Marcus Lovett and Shamorie Ponds are already one of the top 1-2 combos in the conference, and they’re both only freshmen. If one of them gets hot, the other should certainly follow, and if Marquette goes cold from the floor, these two could single-handedly win St. John’s this game.
The Don’t @ Me Prediction
I think Marquette finds a way to win this one, but at least of the pair of Lovett and Ponds goes off to keep the game close. I’ll go Marquette by seven, 87-80.
