The Providence Friars are back in action on Wednesday night. After against the rival Rhode Island Rams over the weekend, Ed Cooley’s bunch looks for a rebound at The Dunk. They welcome the Brown Bears of the Ivy League to town, who stand at 4-4 in the young season.
The Bears also felt the wrath of Rhody, having lost 86-62 last week in Kingston. Brown also took a loss to Central Connecticut State (who faces DePaul later Wednesday night) on Saturday, 68-62. The Bears have lost to three sub-200 KenPom teams this year and two sub-300 teams, including CCSU, the Stony Brook Seawolves and the St. Francis (NY) Terriers.
Providence and Brown will meet for the 124th time on Wednesday night. The crosstown battle has favored the Friars, who lead the all-time series 95-28. Brown has the distinction of tagging Ed Cooley for one of his two home nonconference losses in his coaching career in Friartown.
