Patrick Ewing and the Georgetown Hoyas continued their undefeated start to the season, improving to 6-0 with a 76-60 win over Coppin State Sunday evening.
Georgetown is off to its best start since 2010-11, when the team started 8-0.
Before we go any further and people yell about how “GEORGETOWN AIN’T PLAYED NOBODY”, like what happens every game this year, I know. Thank you. Their schedule is bad. We’re all well aware. It doesn’t need to be repeated for the hundredth time.
Jessie Govan continues to look like a monster in the new 21st century offense, as he had another 20 & 15 game. 26 & 16 to be precise. That’s something that can be taken away from all these games, as he’s leading the Big East in rebounding and now has four 20+ point performances this year. The big man has excelled more than anyone in Ewing’s new offense, and it’ll be interesting to see how it translates to Big East play.
One thing the Hoyas need to work on? Turnovers. They had 15 in this game, 10 of which came in the second half. That’s alarming when you’re playing a team like Coppin State.
In all, Georgetown did what they were supposed to do. They’ll host the Howard Bison Thursday evening.
