All-Time Series
DePaul holds a 22-10 all-time lead over Northwestern, but the Wildcats have won the last two meetings.
Preview
The DePaul Blue Demons are on a roll right now. After opening the week with a victory over Alabama A&M, DePaul’s fifth straight win, they look to take down the Northwestern Wildcats in the battle for Chicago supremacy.
After turning into media darlings last March, Northwestern has safely made their way back down to earth, with losses to Georgia Tech, Creighton, Purdue, and Texas Tech. With a game against Oklahoma still looming in their nonconference slate, Northwestern could very well be moved closer to auto-bid or bust territory if they lose to the Blue Demons.
DePaul certainly remembers the drubbing it took last year at the hands of the Wildcats. That likely won’t be the case this year, as the Blue Demons have been playing very solid basketball of late. Eli Cain has excelled in the point guard role after Devin Gage went down with a season ending injury, Max Strus is scoring, and Tre’Darius McCallum has been doing a little bit of everything. It shouldn’t surprise anyone if DePaul pulls out a victory.
Prediction: DePaul 74, Northwestern 70
