Jalen Brunson is an All-American!

The Villanova Wildcats star guard was named by the Associated Press to their 2017-18 preseason All-America team on Monday afternoon. Brunson, the Big East’s Preseason Player of the Year, has added another accolade to a list that seems to lengthen each week.

Brunson is joined by some of the best players in college hoops. Michigan State Spartans forward Miles Bridges leads the bunch, as received a hearty 61 votes. By comparison, Brunson received 33.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish forward Bonzie Colson finished second with 47 votes by the AP. DePaul Blue Demons fans will have to familiarize themselves with Colson, as DePaul of course opens with Notre Dame in the first game in WinTrust Arena later this week.

The other two players to be named to the preseason All-America team were Arizona Wildcats guard Allonzo Trier and Missouri Tigers forward Michael Porter Jr. Porter, of course, figures to be in the conversation as the top pick in next year’s NBA Draft.

Two other Big East players received votes for the preseason All-America team. They were, unsurprisingly, Seton Hall Pirates big man Angel Delgado and Xavier Musketeers wing Trevon Bluiett. Delgado and Bluiett received 15 and five votes respectively.
