Preview

Fresh off the heels of a 101-49 season opening bludgeoning of Morehead State, the Xavier Musketeers look to do the same thing to the MAAC’s Rider Broncs.

Rider went a respectable 18-15 last season, but lost their four of their leading scorers to graduation.

The Broncs won their season opener against Hampton, 90-75. Former DePaul Blue Demon Fred Scott had a double-double, scoring 15 points and hauling in 14 rebounds. Jordan Allen led Rider with 21 points, and preseason third team all-MAAC Stevie Jordan had 17.

In short, this Rider team isn’t devoid of talent, by any means. They just don’t have enough on the roster to hang with a top 15 team in the nation. Expect a relatively similar result to the Morehead State game for Xavier. Maybe not to the extreme blowout length, but a blowout nonetheless.
