Big East Coast Bias Basketball Power Rankings: WEEK NINE EDITION

Our latest edition of Power Rankings are out!

In this week’s edition, 21 pollsters ranked the Big East teams 1-10, and for the first time this season, someone other than Villanova and Creighton received first-place votes.

This week’s edition featured the contributions of Anonymous Eagle, Casual Hoya and Rumble in the Garden.

10. DePaul Blue Demons

“Things aren’t going very well for DePaul so far in Big East play. It can only go up from here, right?” - Robert O’Neill

9. Georgetown Hoyas

“I shudder to think what will happen if Georgetown loses to St. John’s and UConn this week.” - Robert O’Neill

8. Providence Friars

7. St. John’s Red Storm

6. Marquette Golden Eagles

5. Seton Hall Pirates

“Desi Rodriguez and Angel Delgado make for a fun game every time Seton Hall plays.” - Robert O’Neill

4. Xavier Musketeers

“The Musketeers are the only undefeated team in Big East play so far. If that’s still the case by this time next week, after they face Villanova and Butler on the road, they’ll be much higher in the power rankings.” - Robert O’Neill

3. Creighton Bluejays

“The Bluejays fell a spot, but that’s not their fault. They keep taking care of business.” - Robert O’Neill

2. Butler Bulldogs (3)

“It’s hard to find a team in the nation with a better resume this season than Butler.” - Robert O’Neill

“Chris Holtmann has done an incredible job with this group. Avoiding a post-Nova hangover against the Hoyas might be more impressive than beating Nova.” - Chris Grenham

“‘Nova is still first in the power rankings, but the Bulldogs vs Bluejays game Wednesday night will be the ultimate battle for number two in the conference. Should be a Creigh-zy game.” -Perry Waggoner

“Villanova lost on the road to a very good team. They weren’t being marked down on my ballot.” - Robert O’Neill
