Big East Coast Bias Basketball Power Rankings: WEEK EIGHT EDITION

The latest edition sees no changes at the top, but a reshuffling of the deck on the bottom.

Welcome to this week’s edition of BECB’s Power Rankings!

There were no real tectonic shifts in the rankings this week, but there was a little bit of reshuffling at the bottom. For the most part, the top six remains heavily unchanged.

This week we received 22 ballots in the power rankings, including ones from Anonymous Eagle, Rumble in the Garden and VU Hoops.


10. DePaul Blue Demons

“Well, someone has to be 10th.” - Chris Novak

“DePaul played incredibly well against Villanova despite the loss. Might be a good thing for them going forward.” - Robert O’Neill

9. Providence Friars

“Providence needs to figure out their road woes. And fast.” - Chris Novak

8. St. John’s Red Storm

7. Georgetown Hoyas

“The Hoyas are skating on thin ice [again], but at least they have Rodney Pryor, who’s not only one of the best scorers in the conference but the country as well.” - Chris Novak

6. Marquette Golden Eagles

5. Seton Hall Pirates

“In the last eight games, Angel Delgado has eight double-doubles. Seems good.” - Chris Novak

4. Butler Bulldogs

“Someone’s gotta fix Kelan Martin. But for now, the Bulldogs are looking good even with the loss to St. John’s.” - Chris Novak

3. Xavier Musketeers

2. Creighton Bluejays

“As hard a shot as anyone has given ‘Nova in the past few months, but Creighton’s efforts were not enough. That’s okay though. No shame in losing to Villanova.” - Chris Novak
