Xavier guard Edmond Sumner left Sunday night’s game with St. John’s with a knee injury in the second half.
Sumner’s knee appeared to buckle under him after he came down from a layup. He left the game and didn’t return.
After the game, Xavier coach Chris Mack opened his press conference with the following, "My first concern is for our point guard Edmond Sumner. He didn’t look good, I have no information. Hopefully, we find out tomorrow with an MRI. I really don’t know. There’s no need to ask me a question [about it]."
As Mack noted, Sumner will be having an MRI Monday. We will update this post once we find out more.
