Georgetown vs. Xavier final score: Musketeers grab win over Hoyas

Xavier’s Big Three gutted out a W.

A trying week for the Xavier Musketeers will have a happy ending, as Xavier snapped its three-game losing streak with an 86-75 victory over the Georgetown Hoyas Sunday afternoon in Cincinnati.

Xavier’s Three Musketeers led the way, per usual, as Trevon Bluiett, Edmond Sumner, and JP Macura combined for 58 of X’s 86 points. Bluiett led with 24, while Macura had 20 and Sumner 14. Sumner also had seven rebounds and seven assists to continue his strong Big East season.

The Musketeers were also paced by a 36-49 performance from the free throw line.

For Georgetown, Rodney Pryor had 23 and LJ Peak had 12. Everyone else failed to reach double-digits. This is becoming more and more of an alarming trend for the Hoyas. Pryor also led the team in rebounds with four.

Xavier improves to 14-5, 4-4 in Big East play with the victory, while Georgetown falls to 10-10, 1-6 in Big East play.

The Musketeers head across town to face Cincinnati on Thursday night, while Georgetown will host Creighton on Wednesday night.
