Later than usual, but the schedule’s been different than usual, too.

Our latest edition of Power Rankings are out!

In this week’s edition, 22 pollsters ranked the Big East teams 1-10, and we’re back to having a unanimous #1 team.

This week’s edition featured the contributions of Anonymous Eagle, VU Hoops, Casual Hoya and Rumble in the Garden.

10. DePaul Blue Demons

(Score: 9.91; Last Week: 10; Highest Vote: 9; Lowest Vote: 10)

“Goodwill from a comeback win over Providence was dismissed quickly.” - Chris Novak

“DePaul struggled this week. That’s an all too common statement.” - Robert O’Neill

9. Georgetown Hoyas

(Score: 8.64; Last Week: 9; Highest Vote: 8; Lowest Vote: 10)

“Georgetown should probably win home games, IMO” - Chris Novak

“The Big East has lost nine home games in conference play, the best mark in the nation... Georgetown has lost three of those nine.” - Robert O’Neill

8. St. John’s Red Storm

(Score: 8.41; Last Week: 7; Highest Vote: 7; Lowest Vote: 9)

“St. John’s wins last year: 8. St. John’s wins this year so far: 9. ‘Nuff said.” - Chris Novak

“St. John’s will be good in a couple years so long as Shamorie Ponds and Marcus LoVett stick around.” - Robert O’Neill

7. Providence Friars

(Score: 6.82; Last Week: 8; Highest Vote: 6; Lowest Vote: 7)

“It took until mid-January, but Providence finally won a true road game on Monday. For their sake, that trend continues.” - Chris Novak

“Providence remains pretty weird.” - Robert O’Neill

6. Seton Hall Pirates

(Score: 5.95; Last Week: 5; Highest Vote: 4; Lowest Vote: 8)

“Hope isn’t completely dashed yet, but Seton Hall went through about as bad a stretch as you could ask for. At least their win over South Carolina looks better with each passing day.” - Chris Novak

"I still don't want to play Seton Hall if I'm anyone who's not Villanova or Creighton in the Big East. Tough out no matter what (just ask Marquette)." - Sam Newberry

5. Marquette Golden Eagles

(Score: 5.32; Last Week: 6; Highest Vote: 5; Lowest Vote: 6)

“There’s nothing you can do when Butler rains down the amount of shots they did on Monday at Hinkle. Marquette should still be alright.” - Chris Novak

"Marquette at 5 because they've proven so far that, besides Villanova, their worst enemy is themselves. They can run with anyone if they don't struggle on the defensive end; they just tend to struggle." - Sam Newberry

4. Xavier Musketeers

(Score: 3.95; Last Week: 4; Highest Vote: 4; Lowest Vote: 5)

“Xavier’s best quality win so far is 11-6 Clemson and/or 13-5 Utah. They’re going to have to simply do better than that.” - Chris Novak

“Xavier had a rough stretch and went 0-3 against the three best teams in the conference. It’s not an end all be all, but it’s certainly something to be concerned about.” - Robert O’Neill

3. Butler Bulldogs

(Score: 2.91; Last Week: 2; Highest Vote: 2; Lowest Vote: 3)

“If Butler keeps this up, they could very well be on the 2-4 seed line in the NCAA Tournament.” - Chris Novak

“Butler’s 63 point, zero turnover second half against Marquette was one of the more impressive things I’ve seen this season.” - Robert O’Neill

2. Creighton Bluejays

(Score: 2.18; Last Week: 3; Highest Vote: 2; Lowest Vote: 3)

“A lot of people seem content with burying Creighton after Mo Watson went down. I think they’ll regret that soon enough.” - Chris Novak

"Creighton at 2, but that might rapidly change due to the Maurice Watson Jr. injury. If his backup doesn't step up, they could start to struggle." - Sam Newberry

1. Villanova Wildcats (22)

(Score: 1.00; Last Week: 1; First-Place Votes: 22)

“If Villanova’s defense is gonna be as good as it’s been the past few games, they’re going to be damn near unstoppable.” - Chris Novak

“The NCAA Tournament is a crapshoot, but it gets harder and harder every day to imagine Villanova not being in the Final Four again.” - Robert O’Neill
