Butler was among three schools who’d been in hot pursuit of the Vermont Academy shooting guard, as they were gunning for him alongside Pitt of the ACC and fellow Big East representative Creighton.
David is now the fourth player to pledge to Butler for their Class of 2017 which only seems to be getting better. He joins Kyle Young (Massillon, OH), Cooper Neese (Cloverdale, IN) and Jerald Butler (Fort Lauderdale, FL) in the class and is the second-best player behind Young per 247Sports’ recruiting services.
247Sports’ Class Calculator now projects Butler to be at the top of the 2017 247Sports Big East recruiting rankings. What’s more is that with this projection, the Bulldogs’ loaded 2017 class now ranks sixth in the country as they leapfrog 15 spots up from their standing at No. 21. Butler is now ahead of the likes of UConn, Michigan, Arkansas and WKU and trails Auburn, Washington, Illinois, UCLA and Wisconsin.
Suffice it to say, Chris Holtmann and his staff have made a big splash with the addition of David to their Class of 2017 even if that Top-3 ranking doesn’t stick for the longterm.
Christian David currently ranks as the No. 1 player in the state of Vermont per 247Sports’ Composite Rankings. He is the No. 23-ranked player at his position and No. 92 nationally.
