For the third straight Summer Olympics, the United States will look to secure a gold medal.
The US picked up an 82-76 victory over Spain on Friday afternoon in the semifinals, behind 22 points from Klay Thompson and 16 rebounds from DeAndre Jordan, which tied a Team USA record.
Kyle Lowry had another solid game, scoring nine points and adding three rebounds and three assists. Jimmy Butler didn’t get on the scoring sheet, but did grab a couple rebounds and a couple steals.
Spain’s Pau Gasol led all scorers with 23 points.
The United States will face the winner of Friday night’s Australia vs. Serbia game on Sunday afternoon for the gold medal.
