The rosters for the 2016 Under Armour Elite 24 basketball game were revealed on Thursday and to little surprise, some of the nation’s top recruits in the classes of 2017 and 1018 are prominently featured.
The game, which will take place on Saturday, August 20 in Brooklyn, New York, brings together the best and brightest 24 recruits from around the country. Last year’s games featured the likes of future NBA lottery pick Thon Maker, UCLA commit T.J. Leaf, St. John’s commit Shamorie Ponds, and other talented players including Kobi Simmons, Rawle Alkins, Markelle Fultz and Bam Adebayo.
This year’s games feature a host of talented players again. A few of them will be making their second consecutive appearance in the Under Armour event. Headlining that group is point guard Trevon Duval. Duval is the fifth-best player in the Class of 2017 and the highest-ranked player that is participating in this game in that class. Joining Duval are four other Top 10 recruits in the Class of 2017. Kevin Knox, Brandon McCoy, Hamidou Diallo and Billy Preston are also featured in the game as No. 5-9 in the 2017 rankings will all be on the floor in Brooklyn.
The Class of 2018 is also well represented in this contest as 13 players from the class were picked to play in the game. The highest-ranked player participating is Silvio De Sousa of the famed Montverde Academy in Florida. De Sousa is the fifth-ranked player in the Class of 2018 and is being pursued by several high-major programs. Like 2017, there are five players in the Top 10 that are participating in the event as Zion Williamson, Gerald Liddell, Nazreon Reid and Khavon Moore are among the players who will be taking the floor in Brooklyn.
Below, you can find the full list of recruits by team who were chosen to play in the Under Armour Elite 24 event. As you may notice as you read along, several Big East targets are featured in the rosters.
