Big East schedule news: St. John’s to play Michigan State in Battle 4 Atlantis, Marquette to face Michigan in 2K Sports Classic, Seton Hall facing Florida in Advocare Invitational

NCAA Basketball: Providence at St. John Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

Preseason tournament information has been out in the fold for the past few days, so we figure it’s best for us to get caught back up on everything that’s gone down of late.

St. John’s, Michigan State to face off in Atlantis

The Red Storm will face an early test as they look to climb out of the cellar after their dismal 2015-16 season. Chris Mullin and Co. will have their hands full as Cassius Winston, Josh Langford, and Miles Bridges amongst others await the Johnnies as they face Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans in the first round of the 2016 Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament.

Below the full bracket can be found, and the field is quite loaded as you might imagine.

Depending on the result, St. John’s will face either Baylor or VCU in the next round. They may find themselves running into the LSU Tigers, Wichita State Shockers, Old Dominion Monarchs or Louisville Cardinals by tourney’s end.

Marquette meets Michigan at MSG

The Marquette Golden Eagles took the Legends Classic in 2015 in Brooklyn. In 2016, they’ll look to continue that success in a neighboring borough of New York.

The Golden Eagles will be taking part in the 2K Sports Classic this coming season at historic Madison Square Garden. MU will be meeting the Michigan Wolverines in the first round of the 2K Classic.

Results pending of course, but the opposite side of the bracket features the Pittsburgh Panthers and SMU Mustangs. The Golden Eagles could reinvigorate an old Big East rivalry assuming they line up with the Panthers so many a fun possibility exists at The World’s Most Famous Arena.

Seton Hall, Florida to meet in Sunshine State

Wrapping up the roundup of sorts here is news that caters to the Jersey crowd.

Last year, Xavier went and ran through everybody to win the Advocare Invitational. The Seton Hall Pirates will now get the chance to do the same down in DisneyWorld as they’ll be participating in the 2016 installment of the annual event.

Waiting for them in Florida are the Gators, who could very well have a bit of an advantage with regards to the crowd. Seton Hall has faced tough tasks before so this should not prove to be any different. How it ends for them is the only thing left to be seen.

Results pending, Seton Hall will either face area school Quinnipiac or the Gonzaga Bulldogs. By tournament’s end they could run into either Stanford, Miami, Iowa State or Indiana State.
