NCAA Lacrosse Tournament 2015: Denver defeats Maryland to win National Championship

The Denver Pioneers of the Big East Conference -- yes, that is correct -- are the 2015 NCAA Men's Lacrosse National Champions.

Led by Wesley Berg, the Big East Men's Lacrosse Player of the Year, the Pioneers defeated the Maryland Terrapins of the Big Ten Conference by the tune of 10-5. With the win, Denver wins its first ever Men's Lacrosse National Championship. This comes after four consecutive appearances in the NCAA Final Four, meaning the fifth time was the charm for Bill Tierney's club.

The City of Brotherly Love played host to this tussle as the two teams squabbled at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Denver got to this point after winning in sudden-death overtime over former member of the Big East Conference Notre Dame.

The Pioneers held strongly over the Terrapins, netting a save percentage of 70.59 percent with a turnover rate of just 28.57 percent per our friends at College Crosse.
