Big East releases 2014-15 conference schedule

The Big East Conference is formally announcing the full 2014-15 schedule for its 10 members on Tuesday afternoon. The release of the schedule officially marks the beginning of the second year for the "new" Big East, and anticipation can finally begin to mount for the start of the college basketball season.

Returning from last year's schedule is the second annual New Year's Eve Marathon, which will feature a rematch from the 2014 Big East Championship Game between the Providence Friars and Creighton Bluejays, as well as a cross-river rivalry matchup when the St. John's Red Storm take on the Seton Hall Pirates in Newark, New Jersey.

Also still to come with this release are the formal announcement of nonconference schedules for Georgetown, St. John's and Villanova, the only three teams to date to not release their full slates.
