Looking to add to the success of the conference with Creighton's victory earlier in the afternoon, the Providence Friars took the floor in San Antonio as well.
But unfortunately for them, the North Carolina Tar Heels are standing in their way and so far, have done their best to quell the 2014 BIG EAST Tournament Champion from advancing to the 3rd Round.
After the first twenty minute period, the Heels lead the Friars by the score of 39-36.
The Tar Heels have been led by a lively effort by both Kennedy Meeks and James Michael McAdoo. McAdoo and Meeks have combined for 16 points, eight points apiece to be exact, and are shooting a combined 57.1 percent from the field. Despite this success, North Carolina is shooting just 44.7 percent on 38 attempts taken.
Providence is shooting better than the Tar Heels, cleaning up on the floor with a 52.0 percent mark on 25 attempts, but have failed from both the three-point line and in the turnover department. The Friars have only made one attempt from downtown on seven attempts, and have committed six turnovers to just three for North Carolina.
Enjoy the 2nd Half!
