Watson holds offers from a couple other schools, including Providence. Georgetown has the geographical advantage at the moment, as he attends Bishop O'Connell High School in Arlington, Virginia.
ESPN has continually maximized opportunities to downplay, degrade and hate on the Big East Conference since its reorganization to its current 10 team format and contract with FOX SPORTS 1. Now, what I go on to list may be an innocent mistake, but that seems specious given the recent attitude of the network. It is evident to anyone who follows college hoops and looks to ESPN for analysis, this type of digging at the BEC is happening on a regular occasion. We get another example of this in Myron Medcalf's recent article "Which teams from each conference have the pieces for a Final Four run?" The issue is not with the analysis, in fact, he seems to speak of Villanova and Josh Hart quite glowingly. The BS starts at a summary of the Conference as a whole in which it is noted that the Big East has never had a Final Four run since its reorganization. Specifically, in the summary, the article states "Most recent Final Four appearance: Never (The new Big East was created in 2013, after the old league was dissolved.)" Why this is BS: No other league was discredited for a prior final four run prior to their reorganization. One will note they list Arizona as a final four representative of the PAC-12 in 2008, when it was the PAC-10 prior to adding Utah and Colorado. This may be excusable, but its laughable to then state that the Mountain West's last Final Four run was in 1991 by UNLV who was then a member of the Big West. The Mountain West wasn't even created until 1999. So why does the Mountain West get this sweet treatment? Why does the Pac-12 get the same treatment as the MW? Why not just say, "Butler, 2010, 2011 or Villanova 2009" with some note next to it? I wonder if it has to do with ESPN's media contracts with the MWC and PAC-12.....
That was filthy.
Waters attends South Kent School and is a native of New Haven, Connecticut. A point guard in the Class of 2017, Waters is a four-star recruit via 247Sports Composite Rankings and is the No. 2 player in the state of Connecticut.
Expectedly so, Waters has offers from UConn as well as Purdue and Seton Hall and interest from Stanford, among many others. With Mo Watson Jr. set to depart after 2016, it only makes sense for Creighton to be targeting talented point guards in the 2017 class.Dunkin' Desi is at it again, folks.
Obviously with Butler and Creighton as 1-seeds, they still have a chance to break on through to the NCAA Tournament field. Marquette appears safely NIT-bound as a six, though.
Smith, who passed away after a long battle with cancer in January, was a standout on Butler's back-to-back national runner-up teams.
Mattioli adds that Seton Hall is currently in the First Four out.
Franco, who is fourth in MLB history in career saves, attended St. John's.
BOOM! That's one way to make an impact, eh? The 'Dawgs and Pirates are in a big scrap with under a minute to play on FS1. This dunk could prove pivotal if things turn out the right way for Butler.
