The highly touted Class of 2015 combo guard Allonzo Trier announced via Twitter today that he will be leaving Montrose Christian after one year to go play his final year of high school basketball at the famed Findlay Prep of the Henderson International School in Henderson, Nev.
With Trier now on the west coast for his senior season, does this impact Georgetown's pursuit of him? I do not think that it will. The west coast teams that are recruiting him may gain an advantage with seeing him play more often now, but Georgetown has done a good job at recruiting players on the the opposite side of the United States for the last few years.
While this does not change his overall recruitment, it will be interesting to see how much of a fit he is to the program at Findlay Prep. I do think Trier will be a good addition to the school, and there is no denying that he has had an excellent three years at Montrose Christian.
As for now, no one knows a commitment date or timetable, but there is a chance that he starts to take visits after Peach Jam and USA Basketball tryouts conclude.
The Rockville, Md. native was the MVP of EYBL Hampton this year, averaging 30 points during each of his sessions, and has been playing dominant basketball so far through 2014.
