2012 NFL Draft: Chandler Jones Ranked Fifth-Best DE By Mike Mayock

NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock has put together a list of rankings by position of the best players at each position in the upcoming 2012 NFL Draft. Chandler Jones, a junior from the Syracuse Orange, ranks tied for fifth at the defensive end position. Jones is the only Big East player to be ranked in the top five at his position by Mayock.

Here's Mayock's Top 5 Defensive Ends in the Draft:

1. Quinton Coples, North Carolina
2. Melvin Ingram, South Carolina
3. Whitney Mercilus, Illinois
4. Nick Perry, USC
5. (tie) Chandler Jones, Syracuse
Andre Branch, Clemson

Jones was also ranked as the 98th best prospect in the 2012 NFL Draft by Draft Countdown. In just seven games last season, Jones had 38 tackles (7.5 for loss), 4.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and an interception. His good season landed him on the first-team All-Big East in 2011.
