Two Syracuse Orange players were playing in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl on Jan. 21: running back Antwon Bailey and safety Phillip Thomas.
Bailey led all rushers in the game with 50 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Bailey also caught three passes for 11 yards. Bailey's touchdown on an 8-yard run was the first of the game for either team. His National team defeated the American team, 20-14.
Thomas played for the American team and made four tackles, one of which was a tackle on his former teammate Bailey.
Bailey was an All-Big East first-team selection in 2011. He rushed for 1,051 yards this past season. Thomas led the Orange and the Big East with 6 interceptions. Thomas led Syracuse with 82 tackles this past season. Neither player was ranked as a Top 100 prospect by Draft Countdown.
