SB Nation BlogPoll College Football Top 25 Rankings "
There was a ton of movement in the poll due to the matchups between ranked teams and due to both upsets and teams that surprisingly keep winning.

We punished both South Carolina and Arkansas heavily for their lackluster play this weekend. It has more to do with the fact that the sloppy play confirmed that the sloppy play in previous weeks was notan anamoly. South Carolina is not very far from being 1-3. Arkansas can't figure out how to run the ball or protect it. Until they do, down the poll they go.

We were happy to sneak possible future Big East member Temple into the poll at #24. If the Owls could throw the ball at all they'd be 4-0 with wins over Penn State and Maryland. Still, sitting at 3-1 after pasting Maryland on the road on Saturday, we're happy to move them into the rankings because they could be on the cusp of a big year that pays off in a BCS conference home.
-
There's just no debating that Alabama and LSU deserve to be in the top two spots of the poll. They've both won impressively over everyone they've played and that upcoming game is going to be amazing.
-
We thought West Virginia was valiant in defeat against LSU and kept them in the poll, but did drop them with the loss. The Mountaineers likely won't lose until the final game of the season against USF. That game could feature two top 10 teams. The Bulls didn't play particularly well against UTEP and still ran up 500 yards of offense and won going away. The strides made in year two under Skip Holtz have been impressive.
-
Georgia Tech keeps making big plays in the passing game and came up with another win, this time over North Carolina. Paul Johnson has regained a lot of the momentum from two years ago.
-
We dropped FSU out of the ranking after another loss, but it's worth pointing out that the team was completely decimated by injuries and was still able to go toe to toe with a very good Clemson team. The Noles will be back in no time.
