Big East Linkage - Three Day Weekend Edition - May 27

Big East Linkage is a news roundup feature on BECB. Feel free to send us any relevant links, stories or posts you think might be interesting to readers at bigeastcoastbias at gmail dot com.

Providence is suffering from a bit of bad, well, providence. Guard Dre Evans is leaving the basketball team which remains in quite a bit if disarray since the firing if Keno Davis.

We're a mixed bag of achievement here in the Big East. Pat Forde surveys the nation's college basketball programs to determine the most over and under achieving programs in America. Not surprisingly, UConn is on the overachieving list while Notre Dame, Rutgers, and South Florida check in on the underachieving list.

Floyd Little is back! ESPN has a wonderful article on the life of Syracuse great Floyd Little and his ongoing devotion to the Orange.

Give us more platitudes, sir! Brett McMurphy sits down with Big East commissioner John Marinatto for a little Q & A after the Big East meetings in Florida wrapped up. Nothing earth shattering but McMurphy's coverage of the Big East is always worth a read.

The Big East is in the cat bird seat, so says SI's Andy Staples. John Marinatto faced down the possible dissolution of the conference last summer and now finds himself in charge of a conference about to expand and cash in.
