Week Four Basketball Top 25 Polls: Syracuse Up To No. 3/4, Louisville No. 6, UConn No. 10/8
The new college basketball polls are out. With a UNC loss to UNLV during the past week, Kentucky is your new No. 1 team in the country.
As UConn was shocked in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament by UCF, Syracuse (6-0) is now the highest Big East team in the polls. Syracuse is No. 3 in the Coaches' Poll (with one first place vote) and No. 4 in the AP Poll. Louisville (5-0) is the next highest team at No. 6 in both polls. Connecticut (6-1) is down to No. 8 in the AP and No. 10 in the Coaches' Poll. Marquette (5-0) moved up one spot in the Coaches' Poll to No. 16. The Golden Eagles remained unchanged at No. 16 in the AP Poll. Pittsburgh (5-1) dropped to No. 17 in the Coaches' Poll and remained at No. 17 in the AP Poll.
Georgetown (4-1) and Cincinnati (3-2) both received at least one vote in the Coaches' Poll and the AP Poll. Villanova (4-2) received votes only in the AP Poll.

I'll hop in here before it closes
I was utterly shocked that we ended up beating UConn in the tournament. Like many, I knew they wouldn’t quite be 2010-11 good without Kemba Walker, but I didn’t think UCF would be the ones to beat them first. Especially with the heart of our team, senior guard A.J. Rompza, out until conference play on eligibility issues. The Jordan boys showed their usual flashes of brilliance in this game, and the comeback was epic. Too bad we tired out and came up small to Harvard the next night.
Still, I have high hopes going into conference play. But going into the BEast, it will be interesting seeing what kind of encore Donnie Jones can come up with after A.J., Marcus and Jeffrey.
