The new college basketball polls are out. With a UNC loss to UNLV during the past week, Kentucky is your new No. 1 team in the country.
As UConn was shocked in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament by UCF, Syracuse (6-0) is now the highest Big East team in the polls. Syracuse is No. 3 in the Coaches' Poll (with one first place vote) and No. 4 in the AP Poll. Louisville (5-0) is the next highest team at No. 6 in both polls. Connecticut (6-1) is down to No. 8 in the AP and No. 10 in the Coaches' Poll. Marquette (5-0) moved up one spot in the Coaches' Poll to No. 16. The Golden Eagles remained unchanged at No. 16 in the AP Poll. Pittsburgh (5-1) dropped to No. 17 in the Coaches' Poll and remained at No. 17 in the AP Poll.
Georgetown (4-1) and Cincinnati (3-2) both received at least one vote in the Coaches' Poll and the AP Poll. Villanova (4-2) received votes only in the AP Poll.
