NEW YORK, NY - MARCH 11: Rick Jackson #00 of the Syracuse Orange and Donnell Beverly #2 of the Connecticut Huskies battle for a rebound during the semifinals of the 2011 Big East Men's Basketball Tournament presented by American Eagle Outfitters at Madison Square Garden on March 11, 2011 in New York City. The Big East coaches have voted and they think Connecticut and Syracuse are equally worthy of first-place in their preseason basketball poll. Connecticut got two more first place votes so they are 1a. in the poll.

2011-2012 Big East Preseason Coaches' Poll (first place votes in brackets)

1. Connecticut (7) 209

1. Syracuse (5) 209

3. Louisville (3) 201

4. Pittsburgh (1) 188

5. Cincinnati 169

6. Marquette 155

7. West Virginia 132

8. Villanova 127

9. Notre Dame 114

10. Georgetown 104

11. Rutgers 75

12. St. John's 71

13. Seton Hall 56

14. USF 43

15. Providence 40

16. DePaul 27

There you have it and it's not a shocker, DePaul was picked to finish last. The media picked Providence last in their poll and had DePaul second to last. The standings at the top for the media were Syracuse, UConn and Louisville. I wonder which coach gave Pittsburgh its lone first place vote?
